                               ORDINANCE NO. 10366
                  
                  
                   AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND PART II, CHATTANOOGA
                   CITY CODE, SECTION 2-144 RELATIVE TO THE
                   PROBATIONARY PERIOD FOR CERTAIN EMPLOYEES.
                  
                  
                                                    
                  
                  
                  
       	    	 SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
       CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That Part II, Chattanooga City
       Code, Section 2-144 be and the same is hereby amended by deleting 

       the first sentence of said section and inserting a new sentence 
as
       follows:
              	   All employees employed or promoted to permanent
              positions shall serve a probationary period of six (6)
              months, except that employees appointed to police or
              fire positions or dispatcher trainee positions in the
              Department of Safety shall serve a probationary period
              of twelve (12) months.
             
       	    	 SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this ordinance
       shall take effect two (2) weeks from and after its passage as
       provided by law.
